Using Microsoft 365 Copilot in Teams Meetings
Use Copilot to prepare for, participate in, and follow up on Teams meetings with AI-powered summaries and action items
Lab Overview & Objectives
Microsoft 365 Copilot transforms the entire Teams meeting lifecycle - from preparation to follow-up. Instead of scrambling to review emails and documents before a meeting, manually taking notes during it, and trying to remember what was decided afterward, Copilot acts as an intelligent assistant at every stage.
In this lab, you will use Copilot to prepare for a Teams meeting by gathering context from emails and files, leverage real-time AI assistance during a live meeting with transcription enabled, and then extract a structured recap with decisions, action items, and follow-up tasks. By the end, you will have experienced the full before-during-after meeting intelligence workflow that makes Copilot one of the most impactful productivity tools in Microsoft 365.
Objectives
Upon completing this intermediate level lab, you will be able to:
- Verify that Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams meeting features (transcription, recording) are properly configured for your account
- Use Copilot Chat to gather pre-meeting context by synthesizing information from emails, files, and previous meeting notes
- Enable live transcription in a Teams meeting and interact with Copilot in real time to ask questions, get catch-up summaries, and track discussion points
- Access the meeting Recap tab to review AI-generated summaries, key discussion points, and speaker-attributed highlights
- Extract structured action items, decisions, and follow-up tasks from a meeting transcript using targeted Copilot prompts
